The Misuse of Alcohol: Your Community’s Opportunity to Respond

The Kettering Foundation also supported the TVRCN’s development of a resource guide for communities to explore and respond to the growing problem of alcohol misuse.  The guidebook was based on action research conducted in 10 post-primary schools about students’ attitudes and experiences with alcohol.  Six community forums, using the guidebook as a framing document for dialogue, were held in TVRCN communities. 

As a result of this success, TVRCN was funded by the Western Drugs Task Force to address substance misuse more broadly throughout the county. This project commenced in October 2009.
