MSU

Study Abroad Student Programme

Since 2003, TVRCN and Michigan State University have co-organized the student study abroad programme, in which TVRCN communities host, mentor, and benefit from a MSU student for 6-weeks each May-June.  Working alongside community mentors, MSU students learn how to put community engagement ideas into practice in the “real world.”  They also make tangible contributions to TVRCN communities and occasionally to TVRCN overall.

To date, they have completed almost 50 community-based projects, such as amenity guides, youth centre projects, child care feasibility studies, cemetery history projects, village enhancement proposals, tourist signage, and local walks development (see appendix TVRCN Strategic Business Plan for full listing).
