Mission Statement

Friends of Croagh Patrick Heritage Trails’ mission is to collaborate, promote, and educate the community on the multi-use of Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail while engaging in environmentally friendly activities that will bring economic and social benefits and encourage a spirit of pride of place.

Goals & Objectives

  • Maintain Croagh Patrick Trail to the highest standard
  • Assist in the development of further trails in the Tóchar Valley area
  • Provide free, health related recreational opportunities for families
  • Increase educational opportunities for children and adults
  • Provide linkage throughout the community for all socioeconomic populations
  • Enhance the economic benefits for the community (tourism and recruitment of new businesses to the Tóchar Valley area)

Programmes & Services

In our attempt to act as a catalyst in the maintenance of Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail and the development and completion of further Trails in local communities throughout the Tóchar Valley area, the Friends of CPHT provide the following services:

  • Collaborate with Local Authority and officials to identify the needs and activities for which this organization can support
  • Collaborate with community groups and residents to gather input and encourage participation
  • Promoting the trails through publicity and fundraising.
  • Educate all stakeholders (County officials, community & philanthropic groups, and residents throughout the county) regarding use, safety and benefits of trails.
  • Collaboration with educationalists in providing educational material for use with school groups

By providing funding, support, encouragement and expertise for the development, maintenance and promotion of Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail and further trails within the Tóchar Valley area.
