The town of Balla holds an important place in the history of the county and tradition has it that St. Patrick himself rested in Balla.
The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail starts/finishes at Balla. This 61km walking route offers you an opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside. Communities along the way are providing facilities and services to help you enjoy this part of Co. Mayo.
